*** We have an *official* problem! ****
Last week when Salem High School District Championships were held at the Kroc Center, NWA Swimmers swam lifetime best times. Some even achieved lifelong goal times. Many of the times would have qualified these swimmers for OSI State Championships, Senior Sectionals, and Age Group Sectionals.
After one of the most important Senior Meets of the year was over, we were told that the meet was “de-certified” because of lack of USA Swimming Officials on deck at the meet.
We have to change this now.
And youcan do something about it.
We are so lucky that Amy Emmet from North Coast Swim Team has agreed to come do an officials' clinic for NWA parents. I have personally known Amy for nearly 20 years and she is an outstanding Official and Coach in Oregon Swimming. (It would be embarrassing to let her drive here for only 4 -5 people.)
THE CLINIC IS FREE!
It will be at STSC in the Dryland Room from 6:30 – 8:30 PM
March 6, 2013
WE REALLY NEED YOU TO COME TO THIS
NWA will provide light snacks and drinks for everyone who comes.
NWA will pay your registration to USA Swimming*
NWA will pay for your first Officals Polo*
*These will be deducted from you monthly bill. Must agree to stay an official for at least a year.
Realize that if you become an official you do not have to work every meet, and when you do, you get to hang out with a great group of parent officials and coaches...
PLEASE PLEASE CONSIDER DOING THIS AND BRING
ANOTHER NWA PARENT FRIEND
Email me back today and let me know that you will be at the clinic, and begin to work as an official. USA Swimming can not function without them, so please consider stepping up and helping to keep USA Swimming and Salem Swimming professional and strong.
OK, I realize this is starting to sound like a late night infomercial,
See you at the pool,
Geoff
